CamTrip 2009, our mostly biennial trip to Cameroon, was a great success. CTEE Volunteers installed 100 P-4 based computer stations in Longla Comprehensive College in Bamenda. 20 computers were donated to COTECC in Bafut, bringing their labs to 84 machines. A dozen stations were installed at Jua Memorial College in Njinikom. Another dozen machines were delivered to Jesse Jingwi for delivery to BSS Mbem, bringing their number of 48. 10 stations were delivered to Joan of Arc Primary and another 10 to a primary school in Mulang, becoming the first primary schools in Cameroon to host instructional networks. 4 P-4 stations were donated to the Limbe Zoological Centre. 40 additional stations were distributed to Peace Corps Volunteers for use at primary posts.
An on-going effort to provide teachers access to computers saw an additional 60 computers distributed to LCC staff this year.
In addition, we donated mosquito nets and medicines to the Government Hospital in Fundong, around 50 soccer balls throughout the country, and a whole lot of clothing, especially to the HOTPEC Orphanage in Buea. The orphanage was also the beneficiary of a bunch of toys, and shirts donated by Purdue University and The University of Notre Dame, as well as Purdue Paint Crew hats.
